Caramel Makhana


  • 1 cup Makhana
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery/Gur
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1tbsp Sesame/Til seeds


  • Add ghee in a pan, add sesame seeds, stir for half a minute and then add Makhana & keep stirring on low flame. They should be nicely crunchy.
  • In another pan, add water & Jaggery in a pan & make syrup(chashni), cook till syrup is one thread consistency.
  • Once done, add ginger powder to the Makhana & then pour the syrup over the  makhanas & mix well.

You’ll have beautiful golden Makhanas to curb all your cravings!
